Project GEAR UP - Class of 2017

Project GEAR UP is a Federally Funded program from the U.S. Dept. of Education to work with the cohort from Bethune MS and continue with the students to John C. Fremont, Diego Rivera Learning Complex and Dymally High Schools for the graduating class of 2017 until September 2018. The program is to work with the 825-student cohort to help them become competitive college applicants. The students are mainly low income and First Generation College bound students that lack the support and resources from the South Central Los Angeles area.

All our services are absolutely FREE to our students and families that are from the graduating class of 2017.  Certain students from Diego Rivera LC are considered from the original cohort and must have graduated from Bethune MS June 2013.

Project GEAR UP's Mission: Our mission is to significantly increase the number of low-income students who are prepared to enter and succeed in postsecondary education from South Los Angeles.
