Traffic Advisories for CSUDH
and StubHub Center Events

Lane Closures at Victoria St. and Central Ave.

Beginning Monday, September 14, 2015, Southern California Gas Company (SoCalGas) will be conducting hydrostatic pressure testing of the new natural gas pipelines it installed last year along Victoria Street.

The project will be centralized at the intersection of Victoria Street and Central Avenue and is expected to last through the end of October. UPDATE (Nov. 2): Delays and weather has pushed the project into November.

What to expect: A staging area will be set up in the middle of Victoria Street east of Central Avenue with work being conducted in the intersection and along the eastbound left turn lanes on Victoria Street at Central Avenue.

Left turn lanes in all directions at the intersection will be blocked and no left turns will be permissible for the duration of the project. At times, Central Avenue will be down to one lane north and/or southbound.

Campus Traffic Mitigations:

Campus Police and Parking Services are working closely with SoCalGas to mitigate the impacts to campus, especially around the start of the semester; however, heavy traffic congestion is expected.

Faculty, staff and students are strongly advised to consider alternative routes to campus via Avalon and allow for additional time when coming to campus.

Updates will be posted on the Construction Updates page.

StubHub Center Events

Campus traffic may be impacted prior to and during StubHub Center soccer games and events scheduled for these dates:

  • No Events Scheduled

In order to facilitate efficient traffic flow into campus parking lots on the evenings or weekends that games are scheduled at the StubHub Center, please follow these instructions:

  • Arrive early. Arrive at the campus by 6 p.m. on the evenings that games will be played, in order to avoid traffic congestion.
  • Print out a "Fast Pass" flyer (82kb) and place on dashboard to be waved through to campus parking on evenings that games are being played. The Fast Pass is not a parking permit – you will still need a valid CSUDH parking permit for campus parking lots. [Get Adobe PDF Reader free.]
  • Use the Wilmington or Central Ave. exits if coming from the 91 freeway.
  • Avoid the Avalon Blvd. exit on the 405 and 91 freeways.
  • Use alternate campus entrances indicated on the map below. These entrances will be less impacted by Home Depot Center traffic.
