Hi Toros! I am happy to be part of the DH family and support students’ academic and professional goals. I was born in El Salvador and raised in Los Angeles. I love L.A.! I received my Bachelor of Arts in Sociology from the University of California, Santa Barbara. After dedicating six years to the nonprofit sector, I decided to continue my education. At California State University, Northridge I earned my Master of Science in Counseling and Pupil Personnel Services credential. Before coming to CSUDH, I worked as a high school counselor for six years. I truly enjoy supporting students and hope to be able to make a difference in your life. When I’m not working, I like to hike, read, explore L.A., and spend time with my son, Aidan and family.

Hi Toros, my name is Zada, you can also call me Zee. I am born and raised in Los Angeles and grew up in Glassell Park near the Dodger Stadium, let’s go Dodgers! I am a first generation college student and the first in my family to attend graduate school. I completed my B.A. at the University of California, Santa Cruz (UCSC) double majoring in Latin American and Latino Studies and Film and Digital Media. I first discovered my passion for supporting and empowering college students as a Peer Mentor for the Educational Opportunity Program (EOP) at UCSC, where I mentored my peers for two years. After taking a two year break post-graduation, I decided to pursue this passion and entered a two year master’s program in Educational Counseling at the University of Southern California (UCS) where I earned my M.Ed in 2015. I absolutely love being part of the DH family and have so much fun working at ETE! Outside of my daily job, I also support undocumented students as the Co-Advisor for E.N.F., the undocumented student organization here at DH. My cultural roots are Mexican and Filipino and am the proud daughter of two immigrant parents, to whom I am eternally grateful for. Their sacrifice, hard work, and encouragement has led me to follow my dreams. My door is always open, I love talking to students about their own passions and encourage you to please stop by and visit me at the ETE center!
