CSUDH offers an array of opportunities to build leadership skills through volunteer and community service programs, participation in student groups, as well as courses in Leadership Development.
This course is offered each semester and is taught by the Director of the Office of Student Life. Course objectives are founded on the cornerstones of Relational and Transformational Leadership Theories, Positive Social Change Leadership, Civic Engagement, and the celebration of Diversity. The CSUDH President’s Student Leadership and Service Awards are designed to recognize outstanding students (both graduate and undergraduate) and student organizations that have exemplified outstanding leadership and provided extraordinary services to California State University, Dominguez Hills and the surrounding community.
Many students and student organizations provide leadership and service to the California State University, Dominguez Hills community. As such, we invite faculty and staff who work directly with deserving students and/or student organizations to nominate candidates who meet the awards criteria for the 2012 President’s Student Leadership and Service Awards. We also encourage students to nominate advisors of student clubs or organizations for the Advisor of the Year Award. Individual student nominees must be full-time students in good academic standing.
