Specialized Public Health Nurse Certificate Program is for those Registered Nurses that hold a baccalaureate in a field other than nursing and want to complete a specialized Public Health Nursing Program that includes a supervised clinical experience at CSUDH (a baccalaureate School of Nursing accredited by Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education-CCNE).
To be eligible for this certificate program, applicants must:
Complete a PHN workshop (offered via telephone conference) with further information at the bottom of this page.
You will receive confirmation and instructions regarding workshop requirements.
Send copies of all unofficial transcripts and course descriptions to the School of Nursing attention PHN to arrange a date and time with the PHN advisor.
Following the workshop and transcript evaluation, you will be eligible to apply for admission to the program and to enroll in the course(s) you need.
When all requirements are met for the Public Health Nurse Certificate program, complete an online application for Public Health Nurse Certificate. Your official transcripts (submitted to the BRN), need to include the completion of this specialized Public Health Nurse Certificate.
A total of 24 units must be completed. Students may be given credit for courses taken in previous colleges/universities.

For BSN students graduating from other universities, please contact the BRN.
NOTE: If you received a letter of deficiency from the BRN and wish to complete required courses with us, contact Dr. Nop Ratanasiripong, PHN Advisor, at email@example.com to request instructions on how to enroll in the required courses using Open University registration form. After completing the required coursework, request transcripts to be sent by Admissions and Records to the BRN.
Workshop date and time will be arranged on an individual basis based on availability of the student and the PHN advisor.
To participate, complete the PHN Certificate Registration Form [PDF] and submit by mail. Please note that all of your materials (application, transcripts, and payment) must be received in order to arrange for a workshop date.
