Free HIV Testing - Simple Oral Swab Test, Results in 30 Minutes!

Free HIV testing is provided by the Long Beach Public Health Department on the following dates, from 10:00 am to 1:30 pm behind the Student Health Center. Spring 2015 dates:

Join SHAC - Student Health Advisory Committee

Since 1991, the Student Health Advisory Committee (SHAC), a student-led committee, serves as an advisory to the Director of the Student Health & Psychological Services.  SHAC advocates for the CSUDH student, while working with the Student Health & Psychological Services to help identify student needs as well as develop, implement, and refine services to meet those needs.  More information will be posted soon on the start dates and time for the meetings


Weight Loss Support Group - MRP-455 (Mass Reduction Plan)

This is an open support group for men & women of all sizes who are struggling with their weight, nutrition and food. Student Health Center physician, Sophia Momand will give you an overview of that disease and introduce the new MRP-455 which is an intelligent tool that can be used in the treatment and prevention of obesity.  Fall semester support group dates and times are listed below.

  • 9/17 and 9/23 - Two Lectures available, 1 PM to 2 PM in Loker Student Union Meeting 326
  • 10/21 - Support Group Meeting 1 PM to 2 PM, Loker Student Union Meeting Room 326

Blood Drive
A blood drive is scheduled for the Fall Semester for October 29.  Look for the Blood Mobile on the upper campus just east of Welch Hall.

Suicide Prevention Week

Join us on Thursday, September 10, 2015 for World Suicide Prevention Day for a Candlelight Vigil on the East Walkway from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM.  Light a candle and write a note to help bring awareness.  On September 9th to September 10th we will have our Suicide Awareness Lawn Campaign on the North Lawn of Loker Student Union. 

Ask the Psychologist

On September 14 & September 15 from 10:30 AM to 1:30 PM the campus will have the opportunity to meet the Psychologists in the Student Health Center and ask any questions related to mental health and illness.

Mental Health Ribbon Campaign:  GO GREEN!

Join us on October 7 and 8 as Student Health & Psychological Services is dedicated to bringing awareness about mental health and illness.  Green ribbons will be available for our students, faculty and staff to pick up and wear in support of reducing the stigma of mental illness.  October 10 is World Mental Health Awareness Day, plan to wear your green ribbon and begin the conversation about mental health awareness.
