Promoting Excellence through Graduate Studies (PEGS) is pleased to announce that it is hosting a Student Research Day ‘Boot Camp’ for those participating in this year’s Student Research Day (SRD). Please encourage students to attend, whether they are presenting at SRD or any other conference elsewhere.
Scheduled for both Saturday, February 1st and Saturday, February 8th (9:30 am-12:30 pm), PEGS’ SRD ‘Boot Camp’ is a unique opportunity for students to practice their presentations, improve their PowerPoints/Poster Board presentations, and receive constructive yet critical feedback from their peers, including qualified Graduate Writing Consultants (GWCs) at PEGS.
Additionally, PEGS is offering the following peer-assisted learning workshops the weeks leading up to Student Research Day:
“Presenting at Conferences”
(Feb. 3rd, 6th, 10th & 11th @ 3pm)
“Assessing, Analyzing, & Evaluating Research Articles”
(Feb. 5th @ 3 & 5pm and Feb. 11th @ 5pm)
(Feb. 4th @ 3 & 5pm and Feb. 10th @ 5pm)
Finally, PEGS encourages those students who are presenting at other conferences to apply for PEGS’ Travel Award Scholarship.
