The Collaboration Lab, or "Co-Lab" is a study space where students can meet and collaborate on their projects.
There is one Lab with 2 work spaces. Each space is fitted with a mounted LCD screen for sharing laptop, iPad/tablet or phone displays. Student devices must be connected to the DH Campus network for full functionality via a data port or wirelessly (GoToros-wpa2). Reservations are required to use the room for any reason.
All students in the group must sign an agreement in order to use the study rooms. CSUDH photo IDs are required. The sign-in takes place in the Technology Checkout Office located on the 2nd floor of the Library South behind the Research Help Desk.
Reservations can be made up to one day in advance.
Study Room Rules
All reservations are subject to the following rules:
- Rooms may only be used by currently enrolled CSUDH students, and are intended for student study related purposes only. Full names and Campus ID cards must be provided for all participants.
Students are allowed to make one (1) reservation per day
Students may make reservations up to seven (7) days in advance
Reservations are for no longer than 2 hours.
Groups may renew their room is no one is waiting, except for the Co-Lab which requires a one hour break between reservations.
All reservations will start either on the hour or half hour.
Reservations must start and end between normal posted building hours
Reservation cancellations can be done in person, or by phone/email
Spaces will be held for 30 minutes after the reservation time then released to the next group waiting.
Groups will not be permitted into a room within one hour of closing.
Library Services end 15 minutes before closing time. Please gather your belongings and prepare to leave the building at the appropriate time.
Collaboration spaces are designed for meetings with three and eight students. ROOMS ARE NOT FOR INDIVIDUAL USE
Food, beverages, and smoking are strictly prohibited.
Lights must remain on at all times; windows may not be covered and materials may not be posted on windows or walls.
Maintain a low to moderate noise level – rooms are not soundproof.
Do not remove or bring in additional furniture.
Users are responsible for the condition of the room. Report any previous damage to room/equipment to the Technology Checkout Program Office immediately upon discovery of the damage.
- For rooms with white boards only use markers that are supplied in the room. Other markers (even other dry erase markers) may stain the PolyVision surface.
Leave the room clean and be sure to collect personal items
- Standard group study rooms- Wipe down the whiteboard, lock and close the door.
- Collaboration-Lab- Close the door and contact (310) 243-2173 to check out.
Students found using the collaboration rooms for anything other than group work are subject to loss of future reservation privileges

Group Study Rooms
All rooms are equipped with a table, chairs, a whiteboard, copycam, and power sockets. Additionally, rooms 3009 and 3051 also have a computer and projector. Please inform library staff at the time of checkout if you need one of these two rooms. One group member will be required to sign an additional time for the use of these rooms.
The lab is equipped with two (2) 21 inch televisions. Projection is possible from a laptop via HDMI, video cable or wireless connection, or from a tablet or phone from the Kramer VIA app downloadable from the Apple, Windows Apps or Google Play Store. Each station has a static IP Address and a connection code that changes periodically to ensure individuals outside of the group cannot join the presentation. The TCP office has media cables and connectors available for checkout. Printing is not available.
Group Study Rooms are for three to five people in 2nd floor rooms and three to eight people in 3rd floor rooms and Co-Lab. If there are fewer than the minimum people allowed at any time, you will be asked to leave. Please wait until your entire group is present before occupying the room.
