The library uses the Library of Congress organization scheme. In this scheme, books are assigned letters and numbers for purposes of organization. To find a book, you will need to know its Location and call number. You can get these by looking up the book you want in our online catalog.
Books and journals are located on the 3rd and 4th floors of the Library South building, as well as closed stacks for storage of less used materials from though out the collection. To retrieve an item from the closed stacks simply take the call number to the Pick-Up & Check-Out desk located at the library entrance. For detailed maps, please view our library floor plans below.

Some books will have additional "Collection Codes" in front of the call number. These items are shelved in a separate area from the rest of the library items, as listed below.

The library occupies two connected buildings in the center of campus, LIB NORTH and LIB SOUTH. The 2nd floor of LIB NORTH contains the entrance to the library. The library occupies all 5 floors of LIB SOUTH, though only floors 2-5 are accessible to patrons.

Floor 2 of Library North contains the exit to campus, internet cafe, photocopiers, circulation and reserves desks, faculty development lab, and elevators to other floors.
Floor 2 of Library South contains the Dominguez Den, Coffee Cafe, Co-Lab, Pick-Up & Check-OUt desk, Course Reserves desk, Info & Research Help desk, IT Help desk, Interlibary loan office, library instructional labs A and B, and student computers (mac and PC). It holds the reference collection, current journals, Children and Teens collection, Folios, Oversize material, and Atlases.
Floor 3 of Library South contains the Veterans Resource Center, 8 group study rooms, copiers, PC student computers and call numbers A-HC.
Floor 4 of library south holds call numbers HD-Z. This floor is also the silent study floor.
Floor 5 of library south houses the library administration offices and archives. It is also the library's event floor, containing an event room, multicultural art museum, and multicultural reading room
