Databases

Library databases are only available for off-campus use by current CSUDH students, faculty, and staff.

Technology and Facility Usage

Alumni and guests are welcome to use the University Library as study space provided that they abide by the code of conduct.

Members of the Alumni Association with a current MyCSUDH account have access to several workstations in the G-149 lab located on the first floor of the University Library. Alumni who graduated before 2005 and do not have a MyCSUDH account can request one through Admissions and Records. Alumni who graduated after 2005 can visit the IT Help Desk for assistance.

CAMS

Prior to checking out materials, students from the California Academy of Mathematics and Science (CAMS) must submit a CAMS library user application that has been signed by a parent or guardian. Signed forms should be submitted at the Course Reserves desk, which is located to the left of the entrance on the library’s main floor. Once the form has been submitted, CAMS students can check out up to five books with a valid CAMS student ID card.

Unless they are enrolled in a CSUDH course, CAMS students do not have access to course reserves materials or the library’s interlibrary loan service. CAMS students also do not have remote access to library databases. Databases can be accessed using one of several stand-up kiosks located around the building. All of the other computer workstations require logins and therefore cannot be accessed by CAMS students.

Minors under the age of 15 should be accompanied at all times by an adult caregiver. During the school day, CAMS students must be accompanied by a teacher.

CAMS teachers and staff members do not have borrowing privileges. However, like any member of the community, CAMS teachers and staff can purchase a one-year Library Associates Card for $35. Additional information about book loan policies can be found on the following page: CAMS Library User Application
