Transferring Calls to Voicemail

Q: How can I forward my calls to voicemail so that the phone won't ring before the caller reaches my voice mailbox to leave a message?

A: If you're going to be away from your desk and want your callers to reach your mailbox immediately, you can forward your extension to voicemail by following these steps:

  1. Depress the button of the extension you wish to forward;
  2. Depress the call forward button on your phone or dial *3;
  3. Get confirmation tone; dial 1000;
  4. Get confirmation tone; hang up.

To cancel call forward:

  1. Depress extension number you forwarded;
  2. Depress call forward button on your phone or dial #3;
  3. Get confirmation tone; hang up.

If you have an ITE 4 your phone will say "Forward, forward" to remind you that your extension has been forwarded (also on p. 10 of your ITE4 User Guide). If you have a 12+, 12S or 12SD, the call forward button will remain lit to remind you that your extension has been forwarded. Telephones with display screens will say "Forward". (See pp.18 and 50 of your ITE 12S User Guide or pp.16 and 47 of your ITE 12+ User Guide.)
