Technology Training for Faculty - Fall 2014

We are pleased to announce the following workshops for faculty. All workshops are in the Faculty Development Center, Old Library, LIB C-121 or Faculty Digital Lab, LIB 2524, across the hall from the entrance to the new library.

This advanced Blackboard session will provide information on the features of Blackboard that can make course management easier.

Blackboard Basics

This session will provide a basic overview of Blackboard 9.1. We will cover basic navigation in the Blackboard interface as well as how to add, organize, and modify course content.

Building a Beautiful Blackboard Site

This session will show faculty how to use Blackboard page that is easy to follow and visually appealing for students. Sample of effective Blackboard practices will be provided.

Lecture Capture (Camtasia Studio & YouTube)

Lecture capture technology lets instructors digitally record their lectures and make those recordings available to students.

Blackboard Collaborate

This web-based module of Blackboard is useful for recording lectures and having live sessions (class sessions and office hours) for your classes. Come learn how to use this useful tool.

Blackboard Exchange

Our "Exchange" is a "learn by doing" session for faculty to practice with Blackboard, ask questions, and learn anything regarding Blackboard tailored to your needs. Laptop not required but handy for this session.

Advanced Blackboard: Closing, saving, and copying your courses

Amp up your Blackboard prowess with this session. The focus will be on learning techniques for test design and administration, grading and additional Bb tools to make your life easier.
