Blackboard is the Learning Management System (LMS) for California State University, Dominguez Hills. An LMS is a set of online tools used to digitize, organize and exchange core classroom transactions among students and instructors.
A general purpose computer lab complex in Library LIB-G149, offering computers with a wide variety of commonly used software. There are 150 Virtual workstations and eight ADA workstations. The complex includes a large open access lab in LIB-G149 that is available for drop-in use. Student lab consultants are on duty in LIB-G149 whenever the lab is open.
Four Instructional Labs are located in Welch Hall that can be reserved for classes.
There are various configurations of Enhanced Technology “Smart” Classrooms (ETCs) that may include a ceiling-mounted LCD Projector, a network-connected computer with monitor, Podium & Control Panel, connections for a laptop, wireless access, document camera, DVD/VHS Player, and an audio system with speakers.
Research has shown that collaborative learning increases student engagement. ALCs will provide CSUDH with opportunities to incorporate new teaching/learning pedagogy.
Faculty can request to check out a smart cart, microphones, converters and more.
Clickers are a student response system that uses the wireless Turning Technologies NXT response card.Student response systems have shown to increase student engagement in classes and allow instructors to get feedback as to what material students are grasping and what needs to be covered further.
