Participants will gather in the Sculpture Garden for registration, breakfast, and a warm welcome from Carson Mayor Jim Dear before going out to assigned sites.

Our Day of Service empowers individuals, strengthens our communities, bridges barriers, creates solutions to social problems, and demonstrates that, above all, Dominguez Serves!

"The Prehistory of Home"| Guest Speaker: Jerry Moore, Ph.D.

As an anthropological archaeologist he’s been – as he calls it – “digging into people’s home for 30 years,” searching for clues that help to unravel a fundamental question: What does it mean to be human? And, he has written about it in The Prehistory of Home (University of California Press, Berkeley, 2012), which is the recipient of the Society for American Archaeology’s 2014 Award for the best archaeology book written for a popular audience.
