Office of Institutional Effectiveness & Assessment 


If you are a faculty member, administrator or policy maker and have ever had questions about how institutional data can be leveraged to improve a program, gauge its effectiveness or efficiency, or make  a case for a new one, you should contact us to learn about what we offer. We will assist in asking the right questions and collecting information in meaningful formats that allow clear conclusions about your programs and proposals. The IEA Office is a campus resource that can assist in preparation for campus planning activities, such as program planning, enrollment management, assessment, and long-range strategic planning.


Mission Statement

The Office of Institutional Effectiveness and Assessment is responsible for developing information resources in support of campus decision making related to educational policy and practice.

Institutional Research

Institutional Research is responsible for developing information resources in support of campus decision-making related to educational policy and practice. These responsibilities include producing the campus’ official census files, generating internal and external reports, conducting research projects, evaluation studies, and assessment activities.

Assessment of Student Learning

The assessment of student learning outcomes is grounded in the belief that the campus community embraces a culture of evidence involving continuous cycles of assessing learning outcomes, analyzing data, and acting on the findings to improve academic offerings. 


Program Review

Academic program review is housed in the office of Institutional Effectiveness and Assessment and supports a comprehensive schedule with a 6-year review cycle.

Accreditation

CSU Dominguez Hills is accredited through the WASC Senior College and University Commission and Institutional Effectiveness and Assessment assists in accreditation efforts. 

Survey Action Research

This program models how the practice of making data-driven decisions can also be a tool for graduate and undergraduate research.
