Presidential and Premier Scholarship Competition

Presidential and Premier Scholarship candidates and their parents will be invited to attend a special on-campus event to meet and interview with faculty and staff and learn about scholarship opportunities.

Presidential Scholarship

DescriptionCSUDH's most prestigious scholarship covering full fees -- four years for newly admitted freshman and two years for transfer students for the upcoming fall semester.
RequirementsHigh School Graduates:
 • Minimum of 3.5 GPA,
 • Minimum 1000 SAT I* or 25 ACT.
Transfer Students:
 • 3.4 GPA and 44 transferable units.
How To Apply

Along with the Premier Scholarship application, a completed application package must contain:

  • A personal statement: Write a thoughtful essay about your future career/college goals. Tell us why a college education is important to you, as well as the personal commitment you've made to get this far in your educational journey. Explain how completing your CSUDH degree will help you transform your life as well as the lives of others. Describe the ways you've served your community and how you will continue serving your community with your university degree. Essays should be one to two pages, double spaced and typed.
  • A résumé highlighting your awards and honors, school-related activities, community service, work experience and other notable achievements.


Eligible students will be selected to attend an on-campus event on March 21, 2015 to participate in interviews with faculty, staff and current scholars.

Katherine Bogdanovich Loker Scholarship

DescriptionAwarded annually to a newly admitted for the fall semester first-time freshman; renewable up to four years.
Amount$4,000
Requirements

•Must be entering CSUDH as a first-time freshman.
•Minimum of 3.0 GPA.
•Must be a resident of Carson, Palos Verdes, San Pedro, Torrance or Wilmington, CA.

Honors Scholarship

DescriptionThis scholarship is renewable for four years for newly admitted freshman and two years for newly admitted transfer students for the upcoming fall semester.
Amount$2,500 - $3,000
RequirementsHigh School Graduates:  
 • Minimum of 3.4 GPA,
 • Minimum 1000 SAT I* or 25 ACT.
Transfer Students:
 • 3.2 GPA.
 • Must meet all general education requirements.

Osher Scholarship Program for California Community College Transfer Students

DescriptionAwarded to students who transfer from a California Community College for the upcoming fall semester.
Amount$2,500 for full time students (pro-rated for part time attendance)
Requirements• Transferring from a California Community College with at least 60 semester or 90 quarter units
• Show academic promise and commitment to complete a bachelors degree
• Demonstrated financial need
