Reappointment, Tenure and Promotion (RTP)

The University Reappointment, Tenure, and Promotion policies delineate the professional standards probationary and tenured faculty are expected to achieve as well as the evaluation processes which must be followed.

As stated in the Faculty Handbook, “the caliber of a University faculty is the single most important index to the overall quality of the institution.” To that end, “policies and procedures affecting the initial selection of faculty, as well as reappointment, tenure, and promotion, inevitably exert a central and long-lasting influence.” Furthermore, “only if concern for excellence is emphasized in each phase of faculty selection and evaluation can there be any reasonable expectation of achieving and maintaining a general regard for excellence throughout the institution.”

Hello Faculty,

As you know, you have the opportunity for on-line submission of your RTP materials. Please let the Office of Faculty Affairs and Development know if you would like to participate in this on-line process. You have until the date of your submission to decide. However, in order to support you in this process we would like to know before then. Please take a moment and respond yes or no via the survey monkey link. If for any reason you change your selection, you can let us know via survey monkey or email
