Timothy Chin received his Ph.D. From the University of Michigan and teaches courses in African American and American literature. His research interests include diasporic and transnational approaches and questions of ethnicity, gender, and sexuality in African American and Caribbean literature. His work has appeared in Callaloo, Small Axe, and Amerasia Journal. He served as the Project Director of the Center for the Study of Global Diasporas and was recently awarded a National Endowment for the Humanities grant for his documentary film project, Nationalism and Diaspora: Chinese Jamaicans in the Wake of Independence.
