A member of the faculty since 2007, Dr. Sharp specializes in the areas of television studies, science fiction studies and critical animal studies. She has published on television, gender, and genre in Science Fiction Film and Television, Women's Studies, Film Quarterly, Global Television Formats: Understanding Television Across Borders (Routledge, 2012) and Reading Desperate Housewives (I.B. Tauris, 2007). Her current project is on the work of nonhuman animals in media.
Dr. Sharp teaches courses on television history, media industries, media and society and the senior seminar.
