Rui Sun is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Public Administration at the California State University, Dominguez Hills. Previously, she worked as an Assistant Professor in Georgia Southern University and University of Central Florida. Dr. Sun received her Ph.D. in Policy Studies from the University of Maryland, College Park. She also holds a Master of Public Administration (MPA) degree from Auburn University as well as a M.A. and a B.A. in International Relations from Peking University, Beijing, China. Dr. Sun’s research focuses on fiscal federalism, state and local government budgeting and finance, and nonprofit financial management. Her work has appeared in peer-reviewed public administration and public finance journals including American Review of Public Administration, Municipal Finance Journal, Public Budgeting and Finance, Public Finance and Management, Public Finance Review, etc. She is also a co-editor of a peer-reviewed book titled Cases on Strategic Social Media Utilization in the Nonprofit Sector (2015)and a co-editor of the Special Issue on Social Media Adoption, Utilization, and Consequences in the Nonprofit Sector of the International Journal of Public Administration in the Digital Age. Dr. Sun is currently serving as a Council member at the Southern California Chapter of the American Society for Public Administration. She is also the faculty advisor for the Public Administration Honor Society, Pi Alpha Alpha, CSUDH Chapter.
