ASSOCIATE VICE PRESIDENT OF HUMAN RESOURCES MANAGEMENT

Position Summary

Under the administrative direction of the Vice President of Administration and Finance, the Associate Vice President, Human Resources Management is responsible for administering the processes for human resources and payroll services. The incumbent is expected to provide vision and leadership, strategic direction, and development of university human resource services, policies, and programs fostering a high performance culture and support the recruitment, retention, and development of a superior workforce. The incumbent collaborates with leaders and managers across the university to ensure responsive and effective human resource practices advance the university’s mission and goals; is a member of the Division of Administration and Finance senior leadership team, and a key campus advisor on human resource policies and procedures.

Required Skills & Experience

The ideal candidate must possess ten (10) years of progressively responsible experience in an executive management level position within personnel/human resources including a minimum of five (5) years encompassing a full range of human resources disciplines within a public entity. Experience in a comprehensive, public sector and collective bargaining environment and experience with PeopleSoft HRIS systems is preferred. A Master’s degree or equivalent from an accredited institution, preferably MBA/MPA, HR, Labor Relations or a closely related field of expertise is an education requirement. Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR Certified), preferred.
