Admission Process

  1. Review Admissions Criteria for Transfer Students.
  2. Apply via Cal State Apply.
  3. After an application has been successfully submitted, notification from CSUDH Admission’s office will be sent to you with instruction for logging in to the MyCSUDH portal and how to track your application status.

Note: the Applied Studies program no longer accepts students residing in the following US States: Alabama, Arkansas, Georgia, Kansas, Kentucky, Minnesota, Oregon, and Wyoming.

Admission – Upper Division Transfer

For complete information on undergraduate admissions and bachelor’s degree requirements, refer to the University Catalog online:

Generally, an applicant for the Applied Studies degree will qualify for admission as an upper division transfer student if he or she has:

  • Completed 60 semester or 90 quarter units at a college
  • A grade point average of at least 2.0 in transferable units
  • Completed at least 30 semester or 45 quarter units of general education in written communication, oral communication, critical thinking, and mathematics.

A maximum of 70 units can be accepted from a community college.

Application Deadlines

  • Application filing period: August 1 - November 3, 2017
  • Document Deadline: December 1, 2017


  • Application filing period: February 1 - March 9, 2018
  • Document Deadline: April 6, 2018

FALL 2017

  • Application filing period: October 1, 2017 - June 29, 2018
  • Document Deadline: July 27, 2018
