Entrance Examinations

Undergraduates

  • The Scholastic Aptitude Test (SAT) or the American Collegiate Test (ACT) may be required if you have attended three or more years in a U.S. accredited high school.
  • A minimum score of 500 verbal SAT and/or 550 math SAT will exempt freshmen applicants from the CSU English Placement Test (EPT) and/or Entry Level Math Exam (ELM) freshman placement exams.
  • The SAT is not required for prospective international students from outside the U.S. but could help move them directly to their college English and Math classes.
  • When registering for the SAT or ACT exams, list school code 4098 to have your official scores sent directly to CSUDH.
  • Official test scores from ETS are required. Unofficial test scores will not be accepted for admission consideration. Information regarding how to obtain official test scores is available on the ETS website.
