INTERNATIONAL STUDENT APPLICATION CHECKLIST

International Applicants residing outside of the USA are encouraged to apply by May 1st in order to meet immigration timelines.

The following programs include an online or off-campus component and do not qualify for F-1 Visa Issuance: Applied Studies, Clinical Science, Humanities, MBA, Nursing (exception MEPN/Clinical Nurse Lead), MPA, NCRP, and Quality Assurance.

All documents and application materials listed in the checklist below must be received by the Admissions Office by June 1st.

Document deadlines for graduate students vary by program.

STEP 1: APPLY

Complete your application and pay the $55 fee online at CSUMentor.

You can also send a $55 check to cover the nonrefundable application fee, made payable to “CSU Dominguez Hills.” Mail the check to:

Include the student’s name and date of birth and/or the application confirmation number (included in the email with your application confirmation) on the check.

STEP 2: ACTIVATE MYCSUDH

Your application confirmation letter will include the information you need to activate your My.CSUDH.EDU online account. Check this account often to:

  • Check your application status
  • See what documents you still need to submit
  • Pay tuition and fees
  • Confirm your intent to enroll
  • Sign up for academic advising
  • Register for classes
  • Check your student email
  • Receive important announcements
  • And much more

STEP 3: SEND YOUR SCORES

Send in your test scores for:

  • Entrance Exam — Not all students are required to do this. Click here for more information.
  • Official TOEFL (Test of English as a Foreign Language) scores. Learn more about TOEFL.

STEP 4: SEND YOUR FINANCIAL SUPPORT AFFIDAVIT

Complete your Affidavit of Financial Support [PDF] indicating you have enough funds to cover your first year of full-time study. Learn more about financial certification.

Note: This affidavit must be completed before student can be issued a Form I-20.

STEP 5: SUBMIT TRANSCRIPTS

Submit your official high school transcripts (academic records) and NACES-certified transcript evaluation report for coursework completed outside the U.S. Learn more about submitting foreign transcripts.

STEP 6: SEND YOUR COURSE DESCRIPTION/SYLLABI

Students transferring post-secondary courses to CSUDH must submit official course descriptions/syllabi in English. Learn more about submitting course descriptions.

STEP 7: SEND FORMS

F-1 visa international students transferring from a college or university in the U.S. and applying from within the U.S. must submit copies of the following:

  • F-1 visa stamp
  • I-94 card
  • Current form I-20

STEP 8: APPLY FOR HOUSING

If you plan on living in University Housing, apply online to reserve your space as soon as possible.

STEP 9: GET HEALTH INSURANCE

Admitted international CSUDH students must purchase health insurance that covers many serious health expenses while visiting the U.S., including Medical Evacuation and Reparation Rights coverage. Purchase health insurance here.
